If only we could swallow the stuff - is there anyone who has successfully eliminated this scourge from their state(s)?

Should I hire someone's pigs and get them to eat it? Can they consume it?
    All communication appreciated.

I had it planted in a herb/veg patch by the previous owners, and it was HUGE.

We wanted to change it into a flowerbed and information technology took a lot of piece of work, especially digging upward the rhubarb, its roots were really deep. It was like digging up a tree.

Hopefully I got it all !

Hi, no way volition I be using Roundup!!! (monsanto b**stards) We endeavour to stay abroad from pesticides and I don't want the surrounding ground contaminated with that stuff.

I don't know, there's gotta exist a way to get rid of it some other way.

Can yous make beer out of information technology? What about a new tendency of wild rhubarb beer or vino?

I saw some sheep chomping on it - didn't seem to impale them.

We have well-nigh 20 plants in the front garden. Looks like I will have to carry out a clean up operation on my own somehow, and as you say dig them up. Sounds similar it's going to be a forensic job.

    cheers for replies.

What animal will eat information technology? A chilean Llama alpaca? A capybarra or coypu (guinea pig)

I have researched this and there is a dearth of info regarding this institute - the chileans eat the new shoots, at that place is also a dye to be made from information technology (black) which is used to tan leather.

In that location has to be a use for it.

It'south very worrying to me that whatsoever aul farmer Sean tin drive down to his local gardening shop and buy a can or two of Roundup, and spread information technology on his country with impunity, most lakes and/or rivers. Herbicides/pesticides cannot exist the answer seeing equally we know the effects of these toxic substances.

I had a "patch" nearly eight meters by iii. Last year at the height of summer I cutting all the leaves and flower spikes off the plant (about forty minutes work),
and this summertime I accept been regularly cutting off the small new leaves every bit they emerge, hoping to weaken the plants. I'd say I will be doing it for at least another twelvemonth as the plants are amazingly tough. I did try the glyphosate approach previously only it had very little event.

Bixy, that sounds similar as good a plan as whatsoever other. I did attempt to dig one upwardly and it wasn't actually that difficult to become the roots out despite what is written nigh them. My bro drove his shiny new tractor over them and squashed a few thinking he was doing me a favour but he just spread them!
